Accommodation in Alupka - Exotic Crimea
Alupka is on the south coast of Crimea. Alupka is a small town located 20 minutes from Yalta. It is a one hour 40 minute drive from Simferopol. The attraction of Alupka lie in its stunning natural setting, and in the must see Alupka palace and its gardens. The Alupka palace is breathtaking. Its striking beauty lies not only in the building itself, but in its surroundings. It was built in 1828-1846 by an English architect, and the Northern side of the place looks like a Victorian English mansion. The Southern side, however, is of an Arabic style, and its grandeur is only matched by the sea views afforded from it. The palace is surrounded by an immense sculpted park, and lies at the foot of Crimea's second highest mountain; Ai-Petri.
The majestic Ai-Petri mountain peaks rise up behind Alupka, and you can literally fly up onto them on a spectacular cable car ride that originates in Alushta. The Ai-Petri lookout point is at 1,182 meters, and from here a marvelous panorama opens up of the entire sub-tropical region of the Crimean coast.
Alupka is not a beach destination, as its small coastline has been built over. It is a small and relaxed town, with less in the way of nightlife than other destinations. It is however within taxi range of Yalta, so it is very possible to stay in Alupka whilst having easy access to Yalta's nightlife.
Alupka is just a small town, and correspondingly accommodation in Alupka is somewhat limited. There are however a small number of quality hotels that we can offer you at your request. Below is an example of a hotel in Alupka, from which you have fantastic views of the coastal mountains that form a backdrop to the town. Rooms here cost from $60 (June to September), and $50 at other times.
